Helen White focuses on protecting elections and voting rights and ensuring accountability for abuses of power through litigation and other advocacy strategies. She currently leads Protect Democracy’s work combatting the independent state legislature theory.  Previously, Helen was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP practicing primarily before the U.S. Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals.  She clerked for the Honorable David J. Barron of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Honorable Randolph D. Moss of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.  She received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her B.A. from Bowdoin College.
