DOJ Says No Law Requiring Family Separation at Border Exists

On June 19, 2018, we submitted a FOIA request to DOJ seeking “any record reflecting a law of the United States, a judicial decision, or a legal opinion of the Department of Justice, that requires the separation of children from their parents at the border.” Yesterday, we received a response from DOJ showing that no such law exists.
