Chris Parr

Impact Specialist

Chris Parr supports Protect Demoracy’s efforts to prevent the politicization of the military and the invocation of national security as a justification for the suppression of democratic freedoms. Prior to joining Protect Democracy, Chris served in various roles in the Department of Defense, including providing legal analysis for matters regarding military international affairs in the Office of General Counsel and operational engineering and logistics support in the U.S. Marine Corps. Chris holds a B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy.

And here we are again.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a set of foreign aid bills that included aid for Ukraine over the objections of the right wing of the Republican Party. Now, because of that bipartisan victory, members of his own party are threatening to remove Mike Johnson from the speakership. The infighting is only getting worse.
