Ella Barzel

Ella Barzel supports Protect Democracy’s litigation and advocacy efforts to safeguard equitable access to democratic participation and protect the institutions that uphold representative government. Prior to joining Protect Democracy, she was a litigation paralegal at Kanji & Katzen, a law firm dedicated to advocating for tribal sovereignty and the rights of Native nations. In this role, she supported litigation and policy efforts aimed at defending tribal self-governance, treaty rights, and land protection. Ella holds a B.A. in Religion from Carleton College.
