Recommendations for Greater Transparency and Preventing Abuse Amid Coronavirus

On April 13, 2020, Protect Democracy issued recommendations aimed at increasing transparency and preventing abuse of the federal government’s distribution of coronavirus aid to states. The recommendations call for new legislation mandating public reporting to Congress, as well as increased oversight from Congress and the newly created Pandemic Response Accountability Committee.

The recommendations were issued jointly with the Project on Government Oversight, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, American Oversight, Public Citizen, and the Constitutional Accountability Center.
