Sara Chimene-Weiss is an experienced litigator and advocate whose work focuses on strengthening our democracy, particularly for communities most targeted by authoritarianism, through partnerships and advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels. Before joining Protect Democracy, Sara was an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the District of Arizona’s Capital Habeas Unit, where she represented people facing the death penalty. Sara served as a law clerk for the late Honorable A. Richard Caputo of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Sara received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her A.B. from Brown University.
