Blake Jelley devises communications and advocacy strategies to address threats to democracy and promote reforms to democratic institutions at the federal and state level. His work includes preventing anti-democratic actors from undermining elections and subverting the right to vote, as well as restoring the Constitution’s checks and balances. Prior to joining Protect Democracy, Blake worked for a number of national advocacy organizations and state-based campaigns on issues ranging from public education to LGBTQ equality, including helping to rewrite the messaging playbook on marriage for same-sex couples with Freedom to Marry, which lead to a historic victory at the Supreme Court.
