Jonathan Garcia

People and Culture Associate

Jonathan Garcia is a people and culture associate at Protect Democracy, where his work focuses on workforce development and operations that shape an inclusive, participatory workplace culture. Before joining Protect Democracy, Jonathan worked as a Program Management Consultant and Researcher at the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration, where he helped map the global democracy ecosystem to connect philanthropic funders with civil society actors confronting authoritarianism. He has also worked as a Research Analyst at the National Academy of Public Administration, co-authoring organizational assessment reports and advising federal and state leaders on strategic planning, workforce planning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Jonathan holds a Master of Public Administration and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Conflict and Collaboration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School, and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Policy and Communication with a minor in Law and Society from the University of Maryland. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
