Naomi Gilens
Counsel
Naomi Gilens is counsel at Protect Democracy, where she works to challenge executive overreach and safeguard free and fair elections. Prior to joining Protect Democracy, Naomi served in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she advised the White House, Attorney General, and other senior executive branch officials on complex questions of constitutional law and statutory interpretation. Before that, Naomi litigated national security, free speech, and privacy cases at the ACLU and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. She previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable David J. Barron on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Honorable Indira Talwani on the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Naomi received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from Princeton University.
