Judge Dismisses Rudy Giuliani Bankruptcy Proceeding
- August 2, 2024
Today, a judge dismissed Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy proceeding.
Mr. Giuliani initiated the proceeding in December 2023, three days after Ruby Freeman and Ms. Moss obtained a more than $146 million judgment against him. Throughout the bankruptcy, Mr. Giuliani repeatedly requested that the automatic bankruptcy stay be lifted only for him so that he could appeal Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss’s judgment while preventing them from enforcing it. Today’s decision clears the way for Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss to begin enforcing their judgment immediately.
“We’re glad that the Court saw through Rudy Giuliani’s transparent attempt to abuse the bankruptcy system and put an end to his game-playing. Giuliani has tried at every turn to delay justice for defaming Ms. Moss and Ms. Freeman, but it will not be denied.”
