Today, it was reported that a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Advisory Council has recommended that DHS abandon plans to establish a “Disinformation Governance Board.” Protect Democracy, Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the Knight First Amendment Institute welcome that recommendation and agree with it for the reasons laid out in our May 3, 2022, letter to Secretary Mayorkas.
