Protect Democracy Sends Second Letter Opposing Florida H.B. 7 / S.B. 148 as Unconstitutional

On March 9, Protect Democracy sent a letter to all members of the Florida Senate urging them to vote against H.B. 7 / S.B. 148, which is unconstitutional. This follows Protect Democracy’s February 22 letter to the bill sponsors and members of the Florida House. The bill amounts to state censorship and would prohibit private employers and teachers in public schools, colleges, and universities from advancing certain ideas relating to race and sex because of hostility to those ideas. If the Senate votes to approve the bill today, it will go to the governor for his signature.
